DURAKOVIC: ANGELINA JOLIE LIKELY TO VISIT SREBRENICA

Durakovic agrees with the estimates that Jolie's visit would represent an expression of great respect for the genocide victims in Srebrenica

Chairman of the Organizing Committee for marking the 17th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica Camil Durakovic confirmed for Anatolia that he has reliable information that Hollywood film diva Angelina Jolie, a great friend of BiH, should visit Srebrenica during the collective funeral for Bosniak victims of genocide in that city on 11 July.

"We still have no official confirmation that Jolie would in fact visit Srebrenica, but unofficial sources that we have say that it could in fact happen, or that there is something to it," Durakovic told.

Durakovic agrees with the estimates that Jolie's visit would represent an expression of great respect for the genocide victims in Srebrenica, and that in this way the world public would be aware of the suffering that the Bosniaks in Srebrenica went through, and that BiH was a victim of horrific aggression.

The UNHCR, through which Jolie earlier came to BiH, did not have information that the famous artist would visit Srebrenica. As they said, if she does come, that would be a private visit. The US Embassy in Sarajevo could not confirm her visit to Srebrenica either.

Angelina Jolie directed the film "In the Land of Blood and Honey," which deals with the war in BiH, and more concretely, the cases of mass rape of Bosniak women during the war in BiH.
