Chairman of BiH Council of Ministers Vjekoslav Bevanda stated that Turkey is a proven friend of BiH, but, in his opinion, the cooperation of the two countries on an economic plan is not at the level that the relations of friendly countries deserve.
He pointed out that, during his meeting last week with Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoglu, the commitment that economic life between the two countries improve on specific matters was expressed.
Bevanda confirmed that he received a call from Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to visit Turkey soon. This will probably occur at one of the meetings at the beginning of June.
"Besides a diplomatic visit, we will create an economic forum," Bevanda said.
According to Bevanda, when the issue is investments in BiH, Minister Davutoglu said that objections that the BiH administration is inefficient and lazy are founded. The problems are undefined laws and regulations that change very often.
"An example is a project in solar energy. People come into worthy investments and problems occur. What then? So, investments must be ensured. And the flow from both sides is important as well. Turkey is the country with the second highest rate of economic growth across Europe. Many jobs take place and the goal is that our companies participate in works in Turkey. Also, our interest is to create space for direct foreign investments in BiH from Turkey at the same time,"
Bevanda stated.
