Perriello is currently the President and CEO of the Center for American Progress Action Fund and the Counselor for Policy at the Center for American Progress, a Washington, D.C.-based independent, nonpartisan educational institute and think tank dedicated to improving the lives of Americans through progressive ideas and action.
Prior to this, he served in the U.S. Congress, representing rural, urban, and suburban communities across central and southern Virginia. Perriello has helped launch and manage several non-profit organizations, including Faith in Public Life, FaithfulAmerica.org, Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, and Catholics United.
He also has advised and served on the boards of organizations dedicated to preserving Social Security and Medicare, developing grassroots legal empowerment, and promoting youth civic participation.
Perriello will speak with representatives from NGOs, government, political academies, as well as students and the media during his visit to BiH and will focus on the role of youth in U.S. politics and the upcoming U.S. presidential elections.
