The Ministers of Internal Affairs and Security of BiH, Serbia, and Montenegro Sadik Ahmetovic, Ivica Dacic, and Ivan Brajovic after meeting in Zlatibor in Serbia signed a joint statement.
As the statement reads, the need for exchange of experiences in the areas of European integration was emphasized, with particular attention paid to regional access to Justice, Freedom, and Security (Chapter 24).
The importance of strengthening cooperation in the fight against all forms of organized crime was also emphasized. In this sense, the need to undertake joint concrete measures in the prevention, detection, and fight against terrorism was highlighted, with the goal of strengthening security in the region.
Strengthening cooperation in border security represents a prerequisite for the successful struggle against criminals in the region, the statement signed by the three ministers reads.
In this regard, they agreed that special attention should be paid to improving cooperation in border control and the struggle against human trafficking and smuggling.
They agreed on the need for efficient information exchange in the region, coordinating the activities of their national organs responsible for the issue of public safety, as well as the need for exchange of knowledge and personal experience from all relevant areas.
