BILIC ANNOUNCES CANDIDATES FOR EURO 2012 QUALIFIERS AGAINST TURKEY

The coach of the Croatian national football team, Slaven Bilic, has announced the extended list of the 28 candidates under consideration for the two upcoming EURO 2012 qualifiers against Turkey.


The list includes few surprises.  They are predominantly players that have been candidates in other qualifiers.  Bilic will present the final list on 2 November.


Niko Kranjcar and Mladen Petric are not on the list due to injuries.

Croatia will fight for their place in the UEFA EURO 2012, held in Ukraine and Poland, in two additional qualifying games against Turkey.  The first one will be played on 11 November in Istambul, and the second on 15 November in Zagreb.

The candidates are:

3. KELAVA Ivan - Dinamo Zagreb

4. TOMIĆ Vjekoslav - Karabükspor

5. SRNA Darijo - Shakhtar

7. ŠIMUNIĆ Josip - Dinamo Zagreb

8. STRINIĆ Ivan - Dnipro

9. VRSALJKO Šime - Dinamo Zagreb

10. LOVREN Dejan - Lyon

11. SCHILDENFELD Gordon - Eintracht Frankfurt

12. VIDA Domagoj - Dinamo Zagreb

13. PAMIĆ Manuel - Sparta Prag

14. RAKITIĆ Ivan - Sevilla

15. MODRIĆ Luka - Tottenham

16. VUKOJEVIĆ Ognjen - Dynamo Kiev

17. PERIŠIĆ Ivan - Borussia Dortmund
