HALF OF THE POPULATION OF BH IS LIVING UNDER THE POVERTY LINE

Official data from the World Bank point out that 48 percent of the population of BH is living on the verge of poverty, with 18 under the line which represents the critical category.


In fact, a large number of BH citizens can only afford to daily buy bread and milk, and an alarming fact is that the number of people visiting soup kitchens is getting bigger.  


BH is one of the countries with a lot of poverty, and one of the reasons for this situation is vast unemployment and a gradual rise in prices.


Economics experts claim that the large number of poor people in BH, is also a result of the world economical crisis.


The notion that the wallets of people in BH are getting emptier is support by shopkeepers who claim that their profit was cut in half in the last couple of months.


A conference is going to be held today in Sarajevo in the BH parliament, with a goal to signify the need for more arrangement by society as a whole in the fight against poverty.


The conference is going to be held as part of the marking of the International day for fight against poverty.
