Bosnia and Herzegovina could experience a new wave of crisis as a result of the financial instabilities of European Union countries , the new chief of the World Bank for BH and Montenegro Anabela Abreu said.
In an interview with Avau, Abreu says that BH is one of the best countries implementing World Bank projects.
”The Euro crises is increasing global risks and we already have some indications that the world economy is starting to slow down. It is possible, as we have seen during the 2008-2009 crises, that BH export are going to decrease as a result of the weakness of the economies of the EU and neighboring countries”, Abreu said.
She added that there is a possibility of banks lowering credits to companies and the public, and a decrease in money orders from the BH diaspora.
Every one of these factors could have a negative effect on the economical growth and fiscal income of BH.
”The World Bank is willing to help BH in every possible way”, Abreu said.
She also noted that BH entity authorities are working on implementing World Bank projects, and that the implementations of World Bank projects in BH are among the best, not only in the West Balkans but in the wider area of Europe and Central Asia.
This year, BH has implemented World Bank projects worth 171 million USD.
